Changes…

I love wallpapers–I actually change mine out daily! Seven year ago, I had the idea to create a place for people to download new ones for desktop and mobile devices. I named it dsktps. The goal was simple: release a new wallpaper every Monday from a different artist or photographer, and seven years later, we haven’t missed a single week!

Last week we reached our 365th wallpaper, and I thought now would be a good time to end the project in its current form. Don’t worry, the site isn’t going anywhere. I will archive it and keep all these amazing pieces of art easily available. But we’ll be changing the way we showcase wallpapers in the future.

Instead of weekly releases from various artists, we’ll invite artists and photographers to contribute whole collections. Love that beautiful sunset? Why not have a few variants on it, and you can choose which to download? We’ll also switch the focus to a few higher resolutions (hello 4K!) that would cover desktop and mobile and really make these creations shine on the newer displays.

So when can we expect this new form of the site? TBD…
